Air China Cargo has renewed its partnership with WFS at Liege Airport, under which WFS will deliver ramp and warehouse handling services for the airline’s weekly freighter flights operated by Boeing 777 and Airbus A330 aircraft. These flights link Chengdu, Hangzhou and Shanghai with Europe, carrying e-commerce shipments bound for European markets and general cargo destined for China.
The collaboration is playing a key role in driving Liege Airport’s robust growth trajectory: the airport recorded a 16% growth rate in 2024, and the upward trend continued in 2025, with 6,772 cargo flights handled in Q1, marking a 6.2% year-on-year increase, alongside a 5.6% rise in cargo throughput.
Marc Claesen, Senior Vice President Commercial EMEAA at WFS, commented on the contract extension: “This renewal underscores our solid partnership with Air China Cargo in Liege. To meet the airline’s specific needs and those of other clients requiring specialized e-commerce handling capabilities, WFS has made substantial commitments and investments in local facility upgrades and service optimization. We greatly appreciate Air China Cargo’s ongoing trust in our services.”
