Aviation Solutions, which focuses on commercialising innovative technologies, has partnered with Aurrigo to develop autonomous airport solutions Auto-DollyTug and Auto-Sim. First announced last year, the partnership has entered commercialisation after successful testing under a Royal Schiphol Group contract, with global airport rollout underway.
Marcel Stroop of Aviation Solutions noted their focus on collaborative innovation to deliver 100% reliable airport solutions, expressing excitement about Aurrigo’s participation. Aurrigo CEO Professor David Keene highlighted Auto-DollyTug as a decades-defining innovation in baggage and cargo handling, with the aviation industry increasingly recognizing the value of their autonomous technologies.
The electric Auto-DollyTug integrates tractor and dolly functions, boasting sideways drive for enhanced maneuverability and bi-directional robotic arms for autonomous ULD loading/unloading to streamline congested airside operations. It is complemented by Auto-Sim, simulation software that optimizes airside operations digitally prior to real-world use.
