Menzies Aviation's new cargo terminal "M1" has been officially launched at Sydney Airport. This 5,000-square-meter modern facility is the company's third cargo terminal in Sydney, increasing its total warehouse area in the region to over 20,000 square meters and boosting its annual cargo handling capacity to 2.5 million tons.
M1 is located in the international cargo area of Sydney Airport. It is equipped with direct access channels on the airside and multiple cargo positions, capable of efficiently handling temperature-controlled goods and e-commerce goods. Currently, Cathay Pacific Cargo and United Airlines Cargo have been selected as the first customers.
This expansion has significantly enhanced Mecens' service capabilities in the Sydney air cargo market. Sydney is the largest air cargo hub in Australia, with an annual cargo volume of over 600,000 tons. Mecens, through its interconnected cargo terminals and truck transportation network, provides efficient and reliable logistics support to airlines and freight partners.
Bo Penn, Executive Vice President of Mecens Air Freight, said that Sydney is a key market for the company and will continue to build a globally leading freight service network through excellent operations and innovation. Kayla Moa, Senior Vice President of Oceania Freight, pointed out that the launch of M1 is a milestone in the 23-year development of the Sydney team, and the company will continue to promote the upgrade of the Australian air freight handling system.
