The electric semi-automatic towing system TaxiBot enables aircraft to taxi with their main engines shut off, reducing emissions, saving fuel, and lowering noise levels. Following a pilot phase, Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport has become the first in Europe to implement this system for Airbus aircraft, with easyJet expanding its fleet application.
This technology delivers significant environmental benefits, achieving notable reductions in carbon emissions and fuel consumption per flight. If fully adopted, taxiing fuel use could be reduced by up to 65%. Manzess Aviation is responsible for the daily operation, staff training, and flight coordination of TaxiBot at the airport.
With years of local service experience, Manzess Aviation views this collaboration as a demonstration of the value of partnership in implementing innovative technologies. The company is actively advancing sustainability initiatives across operations, supporting the industry’s decarbonization efforts and moving toward its goal of net-zero operational emissions by 2045.
