ORLANDO – dnata, a global air and travel services provider, has launched its innovative “Station of Tomorrow” at Orlando International Airport (MCO). The facility introduces advanced technologies and a fully electric ground support equipment fleet, significantly enhancing operational efficiency, safety, and sustainability while improving the passenger experience.
The project represents a US$ 3 million investment by dnata and establishes a new benchmark for ground handling in the United States. It includes state-of-the-art passenger service, telematics, resource management, virtual training, and anti-collision systems. In addition to strengthening the local aviation sector, the station will create 50 new jobs in Orlando, with further expansion planned across dnata’s 22 U.S. locations.
David Barker, dnata’s Regional CEO for the Americas, emphasized the company’s commitment to leading the industry with scalable solutions that benefit airline partners and passengers alike. The initiative is supported by key partners including Lufthansa Group, Oshkosh AeroTech, Evitado Technologies, and AVIAR.
Discover Airlines serves as the launch customer for the new station. Representatives from Lufthansa Group and Discover Airlines expressed enthusiasm for the expanded partnership and highlighted the environmental and safety advantages brought by the electric GSE and advanced systems.
