Swissport, the world's leading provider of aviation ground services, officially launched passenger and apron services at Sapporo New Chitose Airport on Sunday, October 26th, with a focus on ensuring the daily fixed routes of Eastar Jet between the airport and Busan Gimhae International Airport. The launch of this service marks a key progress in Swissport's strategic layout in the northern Japanese market. To precisely match this seasonal demand, Swissport has specifically invested in specialized ground support equipment (GSE), including de-icing equipment and snow operation vehicles, to ensure that it can still provide safe and efficient ground services under complex winter weather conditions. In terms of talent security, Swissport has launched a recruitment and training program at New Chitose Airport, which will create 50 seasonal jobs and focus on attracting local labor. Kaeser added, "Hokkaido has a strong agricultural community. Many local workers have the ability to operate heavy machinery and experience driving in the snow, which are exactly what winter aviation ground services need."
