SkyUp Airlines’ foray into operations from Riga and Tallinn airports, which began in May 2022 through a collaboration with tour operator Join UP!, laid the groundwork for its strategic partnership with BGS—a tie-up established in November of the same year that has now been renewed. This ongoing cooperation underscores the stability of their alliance amid the volatile geopolitical landscape.
Vitalis Dudys, Group Head of Commerce at BGS, emphasized the significance of the extended partnership: “Our collaboration with SkyUp kicked off in 2022, and the decision to continue working together despite prevailing geopolitical challenges speaks volumes about the mutual trust and long-term commitment between our two companies. The BGS team is fully prepared to guarantee seamless refuelling operations for SkyUp aircraft at Riga and Tallinn airports, supporting the airline’s continued expansion across the region.”
Dmytro Sieroukhov, CEO of SkyUp Airlines, echoed this sentiment, noting the airline’s proactive EU market expansion since 2022: “The aviation industry is highly dynamic, making reliable and strong partnerships indispensable for sustained growth. We have full confidence in our ongoing collaboration with BGS, which will continue to underpin our geographical expansion efforts in the EU.”
