Biman Bangladesh Airlines has recently added 32 new Ground Support Equipment (GSE) units to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka, aiming to enhance the airport's ground handling capacity and meet the operational requirements of the newly built Terminal 3.
The newly added equipment includes a variety of professional models: 2 container pallet loaders from Oshkosh, 12 container pallet transporters and 9 belt loaders from TLD, as well as 7 Air Conditioning Units (ACUs) — 5 supplied by TLD and 2 by Guinault. These equipment will comprehensively optimize the efficiency of ground operations such as luggage transportation, cargo loading and unloading, and cabin environment control at the airport.
Notably, this GSE fleet expansion is a continuous investment initiative by Biman Bangladesh Airlines. The airline announced the delivery of the first batch of new ground support equipment for the airport in January this year, and this supplementary procurement will further improve the airport's ground handling system, supporting the operational needs following the terminal expansion.
