Over the past two years, Celebi has scaled up its workforce by over 200 employees, a strategic move that has underpinned its stellar operational growth: the company registered an 85.7% year-on-year surge in cargo volumes and a 15.9% uptick in the number of flights handled.
Fueled by the booming e-commerce sector, air cargo demand has soared, and Celebi has responded proactively by refining its import procedures to address the unique requirements of this fast-growing segment.
To bolster its capacity for further expansion, Celebi took over a dedicated 3,500-square-metre space at the Cargo City in February. This expansion was complemented by a 2,000-square-metre extension of its open-air cargo handling area, significantly boosting the company’s ability to manage peak freighter operations and avoid cargo backlogs.
On the passenger service front, Celebi upgraded its service offerings with the launch of a renovated lounge in November, which features enhanced amenities designed to elevate passenger comfort and experience.
Technological innovation has been a key driver of Celebi’s efficiency at Budapest Airport. The company has deployed Cargocel, its proprietary warehouse management system, in tandem with IKARUS, a ground handling service recording platform. IKARUS not only supports streamlined invoicing processes but also enhances overall operational efficiency by enabling real-time cargo tracking, simplifying document workflows, and cutting down cargo processing times.
