DOLL’s redesigned Half Cut highloader prioritises driver visibility and safety with a camera system replacing the conventional right-hand exterior mirror; two in-cab monitors display three right-side views to maintain situational awareness amid busy aircraft apron operations. The vehicle complies with EU General Safety Regulation GSR II, is fitted with camera and radar collision avoidance systems, and has passed ECE frontal, side and roof crash tests by a certified EU authority.
For precise and safe aircraft docking, the highloader is equipped with advanced assistance systems: a 3D sensor scans the surrounding area, automatically triggering braking when within 0.5 metres of the aircraft, while a 3D camera provides real-time distance displays. Its 360-degree vehicle view and stabiliser, lift and platform alignment guidance reduce operator errors and speed up docking procedures. Built on an Iveco Eurocargo base with the passenger side removed, the low-positioned superstructure and transfer bridge allow servicing of small aircraft with low sill heights, while ensuring unobstructed views of aircraft doors during docking.
The highloader holds Europe-wide certification, complying with all EU type approval regulations, with full technical data included in its Certificate of Conformity (COC). This eliminates the need for separate cab and superstructure approvals, shortening registration processes; outside the EU, the COC also streamlines import technical assessments. DOLL now oversees the entire manufacturing process (previously outsourcing cab production), enabling more precise production scheduling, targeted capacity expansion and faster delivery of large-scale orders, according to Maximilian Roth, Vice President of Operations and Engineering at DOLL Airport Equipment.
