Integration Completion & Branding
dnata has completed the integration of its Italian ground handling business (formerly Airport Handling) into its global organisation, with all operations now unified under the dnata brand. This follows the company’s full acquisition of the subsidiary in 2025, after progressively increasing its shareholding from an initial strategic investment.
Expanded Presence & Investment
The integration strengthens dnata’s footprint in Rome and Milan, following the start of operations at Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO) in 2025. To further support growth, dnata has announced a €25 million investment in a new cargo facility at Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP), which will increase capacity and create over 150 new jobs, contributing to the 5,000 people already employed by dnata in Italy.
Global Strategy & European Context
As part of a broader European expansion, this milestone positions Italy as a strategic pillar within dnata’s network, aligning it with global systems and governance. Alongside similar investments in Amsterdam and Zurich, dnata continues to scale its capabilities across key aviation hubs, reinforcing its long-term commitment to the Italian market and high-growth regions.
