GCG Barbados’ investment in its ground support equipment (GSE) fleet is set to enhance tourists’ travel experiences while fueling economic development and workforce advancement across Barbados. The company emphasized that this strategic investment underscores its commitment to fostering sustainable growth, as it contributes to upgrading the country’s infrastructure and investing in local talent development.
To strengthen its operational capabilities, GCG has implemented cross-training programs and expanded its seasonal workforce, resulting in a larger pool of skilled employees compared to the previous year. This workforce enhancement aligns with the company’s broader goal of elevating service standards through the new GSE fleet.
Ainsley Rajkumar, Cluster General Manager (South Caribbean) at GCG, highlighted the long-term impact of the investment: “Our focus goes beyond commercial success; it centers on creating enduring value through excellence, skill development, and preparation for future growth. By boosting operational efficiency and service quality, we aim to deliver a seamless, premium experience for passengers, ensuring their journey through Barbados is memorable and worthy of repetition.”
Hadley Bourne, CEO of Grantley Adams International Airport, echoed the strategic significance of the GSE upgrade, noting its alignment with the airport’s pursuit of operational excellence. “This shared dedication to enhancing efficiency and service quality underscores the vital role of collaboration within our airport community,” Bourne stated. “By continuing to work together, we elevate the passenger experience and solidify our airport’s position as a gateway that showcases the very best of Barbados.”
