Safeport has once again demonstrated its expertise in handling the iconic Airbus A380, marking the second occasion it has provided ground support for the world’s largest commercial aircraft at Beja Airport. This latest engagement follows the company’s historic first involvement in 2018, when it assisted Hi Fly’s Airbus A380 (registration 9H-MIP).
The Airbus A380 in question, operated by Global Airlines and ferried by Hi Fly, touched down in Beja after departing from Dresden, Germany. Upon its arrival, Safeport’s dedicated team took charge of a full suite of ground handling services, leaving no detail overlooked in ensuring seamless operations.
Their responsibilities encompassed the provision of Ground Support Equipment (GSE), aircraft towing, potable water supply, lavatory servicing, aircraft cleaning, and comprehensive airport logistics coordination—all critical to supporting the safe and efficient turnaround of the massive airliner.
A Safeport spokesperson commented on the milestone: “This successful operation is a testament to Safeport’s unwavering commitment to excellence in handling the world’s largest passenger aircraft, further solidifying our position as a leader in the industry. Managing such a remarkable aircraft requires precision, expertise, and the ability to oversee large-scale operations—capabilities that Safeport consistently delivers.”
The spokesperson added, “Building on our experience supporting Hi Fly’s Airbus A380 back in 2018, we continue to refine our expertise in caring for these exceptional machines with the utmost precision. The 2018 arrival of Hi Fly’s 9H-MIP, which was dedicated to the Mirpuri Foundation’s ‘Save the Coral Reefs’ campaign, drew hundreds of spectators to Beja Airport and etched a significant chapter in local aviation history. Today, we are proud to build on that legacy with another successful A380 support mission.”
