A newly established Philippine airline, Skyway Airlines, has officially launched freighter services to Hong Kong starting March 20, with a strategic focus on catering to the e-commerce sector's logistics needs.
To ensure seamless operations, Skyway has secured a service contract covering terminal handling, ramp handling, and documentation services. The airline operates six weekly flights to Hong Kong using a Boeing 737-400 freighter, which boasts a cargo capacity of 18 tonnes. Half of these flights are routed via Clark International Airport, while the remaining three originate from Manila.
Jose Angelo Peralta, President and CEO of Skyway Airlines, emphasized that the launch of international services marks a significant milestone following the airline's acquisition of its Air Operator Certificate. "We are delighted to have Hactl's one-stop service support for our freighter operations at Hong Kong International Airport," he stated. "This support has significantly eased the challenges associated with launching this new service, and we aim to contribute to fostering trade ties between Hong Kong and the Philippines."
Joanna Li, Executive Director of Commercial and Business Development at Hactl, extended a warm welcome to the new carrier. "We are pleased to welcome Skyway Airlines to our growing family of partner carriers, which further enhances our global network reach," she said.
