TIPS GSE has introduced the Highway2236Pe, an all-electric, self-propelled passenger boarding stair featuring an integrated PRM (Persons with Reduced Mobility) lift. Combining two essential functions into one unified system, it offers both conventional stair access and a seamless wheelchair lift, eliminating the need for additional equipment or vehicles.
Designed to accommodate narrow-body aircraft such as the Airbus A320 and Boeing B737 families, the Highway2236Pe serves aircraft with boarding heights ranging from 2.2 to 3.6 meters.
Key features of the Highway2236Pe include:
An integrated PRM lift that requires no extra setup;
The ability to safely transport passengers using wheelchairs and mobility aids weighing up to 300kg;
Fully electric, eco-friendly operation;
Advanced safety mechanisms to protect both passengers and aircraft;
A durable design aimed at extending product lifespan.
According to Vesna Poznič, Head of Sales at TIPS GSE, “The Highway2236Pe is more than a stairway—it’s a comprehensive boarding solution. By incorporating the PRM lift directly into the stair design, we help airports increase operational efficiency, lower costs, and, most importantly, guarantee that every passenger receives equal treatment in safety and comfort.”
This innovation aligns with the aviation industry’s growing emphasis on accessible travel. The Highway2236Pe represents a new benchmark in inclusive and efficient boarding by integrating both functionalities into a single ready-to-deploy unit.
Development within the Highway series continues, with new models already underway and slated for release in the near future.
